Vivint recognizes National Green Week through energy-saving solar and home automation

Tuesday, Feb 05, 2013

Vivint Inc.™, the largest home automation services company in North America, and Vivint Solar™, a leading provider of simple, affordable solar solutions, are celebrating National Green Week (Feb. 4–8) by offering sustainable, energy-saving home automation and solar energy systems.

“Thanks to Vivint Solar, I have a wonderful way to use natural energy from the sun to power my home”

The Vivint energy management solution allows consumers to monitor and adjust the amount of energy they use in their homes, even when on the road. Whether traveling for work, vacation, or simply driving around town, homeowners can manage thermostats, lighting features, and small appliances all from a smartphone or computer.

Since switching to the Vivint energy system, Jennifer Mann, of Holly Springs, North Carolina, said she has noticed a $40 to $50 savings every month in her utility bills. “I am the kind of person who is always changing the temperature in my house. I used to walk by my thermostat and adjust it a few degrees five or six times a day, and I used to be up several times per night as well. Now, I can wake up in the night and change the thermostat from my phone without even getting out of bed.”

Vivint Solar is changing the way people power their homes, and is one of the nation’s fastest growing solar photovoltaic providers. Customers save money on energy through a power purchase agreement (PPA), in which customers agree to purchase power from Vivint Solar at rates significantly lower than their typical power bill. In exchange, Vivint Solar designs, installs, and maintains the solar energy system for free, allowing customers to enjoy the benefits of renewable solar energy without a large, up-front investment.

Deborah Schoenborn, of Maywood, New Jersey, transformed her home into a green home by signing up for Vivint Solar. "Thanks to Vivint Solar, I have a wonderful way to use natural energy from the sun to power my home," said Schoenborn. “The Vivint Solar installation crew was pleasant, respectful, and had the system installed in less than a day. I’m very excited to have Vivint Solar help me go green—and save money at the same time.”

Vivint Solar offers customers several advantages, including free installation, monitoring, and maintenance of solar panels, and the ability to purchase the power generated by the panels for a lower rate than they typically pay their utility company.
