Stream Energy launches nationwide renewable energy program

Stream Energy, the world’s largest network marketer of energy, announced today that it is now serving customers across the United States through the sale of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) as part of its brand-new Clean Nation initiative.

Each REC sold through the Clean Nation program is certified by Green-e Energy, the nation's leading independent consumer protection program for the sale of renewable energy.

“As a member of Clean Nation, you will still receive an energy bill from your current supplier – but now you are offsetting your non-green energy usage with a clean product that is 100% renewable and 100% domestic.”

In conjunction with the rollout of this new clean energy initiative, Stream Energy announced that the firm will be offsetting 100% of its own corporate electricity usage through the purchase of renewable energy certificates. Stream Energy has also committed to an ongoing monthly purchase of renewable energy certificates for each of its corporate employees. Together, this equates to over 7.3 million kilowatts of electricity offset on an annual basis, which is equivalent to reducing over five tons of carbon dioxide emissions from the environment.
