LM Glasfiber joins Global Wind Alliance

LM Glasfiber, the world's leading independent manufacturer of blades for wind turbines, today announced that its international service unit has joined the Global Wind Alliance.

The Global Wind Alliance currently brings together 14 key players within maintenance, repair and overhaul of wind turbines thereby offering one point of contact for wind farm owners across the globe.

Roman Thomassin, LM Glasfiber's VP, Service & Logistics says: "Service and maintenance is a strategic focus area for LM Glasfiber. The successful operation of wind turbines through targeted maintenance and repair of the rotor is a key concern that we share with our customers as well as wind farm operators around the world. With this membership, we also seek to apply our extensive knowledge of blades in the growing post-warranty market."

LM Glasfiber's international service unit currently has app. 300 employees offering efficient on-site repair solutions and builds on an international network of blade workshops. The service offering ranges from inspection, repair and overhaul to preventive maintenance.

LM Glasfiber's entry into the post-warranty service and maintenance market is part of an overall strategy to strengthen the service offering and customer responsiveness. The company recognizes the critical challenge of addressing customers' priorities and is further upgrading and developing its capability in service and maintenance to ensure optimal performance. Sharing knowledge and expertise on how best to improve through-life quality and reliability of equipment is a key step towards meeting these goals.
