Thursday, Mar 21, 2013
MONTREAL, March 18, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - What is our vision of a "smart" economy, based on clean energy ad sustainable growth? Are Canadian and European cities that have opted for green development doing better than those that have not? What are the issues and challenges to be met? What are the costs and benefits of adopting sustainable behaviours?
All of these questions will be discussed by some one hundred European and Canadian green economy experts at "Going Green: Smart Choices for a Sustainable Future." This major conference presented by the European Union within the framework of the international trade show AMERICANA, will take place on March 20 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.
The conference will begin with a keynote presentation by acclaimed economist Jeremy Rifkin, president of the Foundation on Economic Trends and best-selling author; the participants will discuss best practices in cities in terms of energy efficiency and clean energy. The cities of Hamburg and Nantes, named European Green Capital in 2011 and 2013 respectively, will be presented as examples.
